Mind The Gap

 

The aim of this project was to experience a small pocket of pre-production for a game. I chose to focus primarily on a single environment and character.

'Mind The Gap' is a an action brawler set in the Victorian London underground tunnels. Outwit your opponents by using props in the environment and unlock new characters to play. ‘Ladies and Gentleman, please mind the gap between the platform and the train’.

  • Prepare a pre-production document ready to be passed on to a development team

Developed designs

After a fairly broad visual exploration I found my character and began iterating on his clothing. I often take a two pronged approach to tasks, in this case I experimented with poses, personality and the possibility of a side kick rat whilst iterating the character's outfit.

I find creating a turnaround of any subject matter tends to highlight issues before they cause problems further down the pipeline.
