Game Description

To The Core is a single-player action platformer with roguelike elements, where you run, jump, and punch your way across desert rooftops, rusty machinery, and smoking robot heads in search of your lost father. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Art Lead

  • Defining rendering style and thematic content of the game.
  • Overseeing production of assets and developing benchmark assets.
  • Setting up and enforcing all required art pipelines.
  • Representing the art team in lead meetings and maintaining communication between discaplines.

Environment Artist

  • Concepting, modelling, texturing and implementation of game ready assets.
  • Working with level designers to plan and design levels.
  • World building / set dressing levels.

Learning Achievements 

  • Worked closely with a team of 30 artists, designers and programmers on a single project for 12 months.
  • Improved team management skills by leading a team of 11 artists.
  • Advanced my understanding of UE4 real time shaders, lighting and practical knowledge.
  • Set up and worked within an environment decal pipeline which greatly reduces texturing time.
  • Set art vision for characters, environment and narrative for the project.
